Equinox, Jazz, Worship…

Update:
Two clips to give you a taste of the Equinox Jazz service that took place on March 20, 2012 at St. Paul’s Chapel, Columbia University
A unique opportunity and invite from our friends the Columbia University Lutherans: The Equinox Service.  Tonight at 6 pm at St. Paul’s Chapel, Columbia University.  Jim Noyes will present an original jazz composition.
The interfaith service draws upon the influence of John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme” as an inspiration to celebrate the Spring Equinox. Jim is a member of a local Lutheran Church in Washington Heights. Yet, in this service Jim draws upon sacred texts from: Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, Islamic and Ethical Cultural Humanist traditions to share a story of the “oneness” of creation?
Thirteen different artists will lead us by singing, playing music, and dancing!
If you’d like to know a bit more about the service or the artist who has created it please check out this website: http://www.jamesnoyes.com/
